President Donald Trump’s new and hotly anticipated social media platform, Truth Social, has arrived in the app store, and users have been flooding onto the platform every minute since its launch on Monday.
As previously reported by RSBN, the app is now available in the Apple App Store for download much sooner than had been anticipated, and thanks to the massive influx of users, the app has rocketed to number one on the Apple Charts.
Last week, Devin Nunes, the CEO of Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) stated during an interview with Fox Business that the new social media platform, which is focused on allowing users to share uncensored information and promote freedom of speech, will be working with “non woke” partners to strengthen the launch of the site.
Truth Social was reportedly originally slated to launch sometime between February and March 2022, with Nunes clarifying that, “The goal here is, is that by the end of March, to be basically fully operational.” However, Trump supporters and lovers of free speech received a huge surprise when the app went live for iPhone users just in time for Presidents’ Day.
The launch of Truth Social has been so successful that thousands of users are joining the site every hour. In fact, the demand to log into the site is so staggering that Reuters is reporting that the app is alerting those who are eagerly signing up that, “Due to massive demand, we have placed you on our waitlist.”
The launch of President Trump’s app showcases the hunger that American people have to join a social media website that does not engage in Big Tech tactics of censorship and de-platforming. Truth Social’s easy-to-use interface and promise to be a “family friendly” website, as Devin Nunes has previously stated, is likely to shape the app into a major competitor for the digital oligarchy of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
