A new report has surfaced online, directing national attention toward a slate of America First loyalists who may be on President Donald Trump’s cabinet shortlist amid a prospective general election victory next November.
According to a new report from Axios written by Mike Allen and Jim Vanderhei, Trump is potentially considering filling critical cabinet positions in a 2025 administration with those who have proven to be unflinchingly loyal in the wake of the 2020 election.
Axios aptly described the lineup as a “loyalty first” cabinet.
The report claimed that First Lady Melania Trump is urging the 45th president to choose news personality and firebrand Tucker Carlson to be his vice-presidential running mate.
While it may seem like a fantastical idea at first glance, President Trump has seemed to get along swimmingly with Carlson, appearing for an exclusive sit-down interview on the journalist’s X show during the first Republican presidential debate over the summer.
The strategic planning behind dropping the interview at the same time as the GOP debate appeared to demonstrate an observable camaraderie between the two men. Both Carlson and Trump have been reviled by establishment politics and power players. Both of them have broken the mold by speaking their minds and starting common sense conversations with the American people about issues like border security, federal corruption, and the scourge of endless foreign wars.
In November, Carlson attended UFC 295 as part of the 45th president’s all-star entourage in New York City at Madison Square Garden, laughing and grinning the entire time. He also recently stated that he would be voting for Trump in 2024, vowing to send him “the max donations” and “lead protests” if the president is convicted in any of the ongoing cases being aimed against him.
Turning Point USA President Charlie Kirk further called the idea of Tucker Carlson as VP “Brilliant.”
Other vice-presidential names that have been circulated for Trump in 2024 have included conservative leader Dr. Ben Carson, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R), Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., and current U.S. Republican Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake, among others.
The thought-provoking Axios article floated the idea of “War Room” host and former Trump advisor Steve Bannon returning to the White House, but this time as the administration’s prospective chief of staff. Another potential Trump loyalist who could return to the fold is Kash Patel, the former chief of staff to the Department of Defense.
Patel has remained staunchly loyal to President Trump, and Axios postulated that he could be placed in a high-level position of authority within the CIA or even the NSC.
Another potential cabinet position worth mentioning from the report is the idea of Stephen Miller as the U.S. attorney general. Americans likely remember Miller’s prominent role in the White House during Trump’s first term, where he acted as a senior policy advisor and assisted in developing immigration policies and more.
Other notable mentions in a possible 2025 Trump cabinet from Axios’s report included Ric Grenell (as possible Secretary of State), John Ratcliffe (possible CIA director or defense secretary), and Mike Davis (possible interim attorney general).
President Trump has managed to keep everyone guessing when it comes to his decision on a vice presidential running mate and cabinet picks, but it’s a good bet that if he wins the White House again, he will keep his circle tighter, stronger, and unquestionably packed with America First loyalists.
