President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” has officially passed the House of Representatives and will now head to his desk to likely be signed on Independence Day, meeting the GOP’s self-imposed goal to get the legislation done by July 4.
After a long, tense night of negotiations, the bill passed in a vote of 218-214, officially codifying the legislation, which includes supercharged border security funding, as well as slashes on taxes on tips, overtime, and more.
Chants of “USA! USA!” appeared to break out in the House chamber after the final vote was tallied.
“How about all the wins for the president and this party?” Speaker of the House Mike Johnson said just before the legislation was passed. “…There’s too many wins! You get tired of winning yet?”
President Trump last night noted of the bill, “Largest Tax Cuts in History and a Booming Economy vs. Biggest Tax Increase in History, and a Failed Economy. What are the Republicans waiting for??? What are you trying to prove??? MAGA IS NOT HAPPY, AND IT’S COSTING YOU VOTES!!!”
It appears that President Trump’s pressure on the GOP won out in the end, and the bill is expected to be signed on Friday’s Independence Day.
