Vice President J.D. Vance roasted former VP Kamala Harris while discussing the difference between himself and the Biden-era Democrat, taking a swipe at her notorious word salads on the campaign trail.
While speaking on-air with podcast host Vince Coglianese, Vance was asked how he has approached the second executive job in the White House differently than his predecessor.
Laughing, Vance replied, “Well, I don’t have, you know, four shots of Vodka before every meeting – that’s one way I think that Kamala really tried to bring herself into the role is these word salads, and I think I would need a lot of alcohol to answer a question the way that Kamala Harris answered questions.”
Vance was making an obvious jab at Harris’s infamous ability to make long-winded statements about virtually nothing, leading some to speculate if she was under the influence of alcohol during these times, although this has not been confirmed.
In August 2024, shortly after Harris replaced Joe Biden as the Democrat presidential nominee, then-Trump 2024 political director James Blair remarked on X, “A lot of rumors out there about Kamala having a serious drinking problem…apparently coming into focus as campaign heats up.”
During the campaign season, President Trump pointedly added fuel to the fire on this topic by asking a crowd in North Carolina during a rally, “Does she drink? Is she on drugs? I don’t know.”
He was referring to Harris’s visible struggle with answering simple questions during interviews.
In fact, Saturday Night Live aired a skit in October 2024 in the lead-up to the election implying Harris might be alcohol-dependent by ensuring the actress impersonating her whipped out a bottle of wine and poured herself a drink during the scene.
In 2024, shortly after losing the presidential election to President Trump, Harris recorded a post-loss video for her supporters and posted it online, which appeared to only make matters worse. She seemed dejected in the clip and spoke very slowly.
“Holy shlit she’s hosed[,]” Human Events editor Jack Posobiec commented on X.
“Have you been drinking?” conservative actor and director Kevin Sorbo chimed in.
Many other public comments speculated about the video, intensifying rumors, but Kamala Harris has not publicly addressed this controversy, and while speculation runs rampant, no substantive source has confirmed whether Harris was drinking on the job.
