President Donald Trump was arraigned on 34 felony counts in a Manhattan courthouse on Tuesday, revealing a long-anticipated list of murky allegations from the Manhattan district attorney’s office centered on accusations of falsifying business records.
As reported by RSBN, the shockingly long list of charges essentially alleged that throughout 2017, several supposed crimes were committed. Each allegation in the indictment list was earmarked for 2017, when Trump was serving his first term as president.
In other words, the indictment list is centered around alleged crimes that somehow would have taken place while the president was living in the White House.
According to the New York Times, now that the president has been indicted and arraigned in court, the Manhattan district attorney’s office is required to hand over the majority of its evidence to the defense within 65 days of Trump’s arraignment.
However, the outlet further reported that this process of discovery would not begin until defense lawyers could agree on how the handling of such materials would proceed.
On Tuesday, the eyes of the world were on New York as Trump stepped into the Manhattan Criminal Court to face State Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, who set the next hearing in the case for Dec. 4.
Per NYT, Trump’s lawyers must file all motions by Aug. 8, and Manhattan prosecutors will be able to respond until Sept. 19.
Despite the legal battle ensuing in New York, Trump heralded the indictment against him as a win for his 2024 presidential campaign on Wednesday.
“As much as I can enjoy a day like Tuesday, where the Radical Left Lunatics, Maniacs, and Perverts had me Indicted and ARRESTED for no reason whatsoever, there was no Crime, it was an unbelievable experience, perhaps the Best Day in History for somebody who had just suffered Unjustifiable Indictment!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He noted his swelling poll numbers and the staggering $10 million raised by the Trump campaign in the four days following news of his indictment. “If we don’t stop the Radical Left, America is DEAD!” he added.
Trump attorney Joe Tacopina told Glenn Beck this week that they were seeking to move the trial date as far out as possible following the scheduled Dec. hearing. A 2024 trial date could conflict with the 2024 presidential election.
