The southern border of the United States has a major problem. Illegal immigrants are entering the country at a rapid pace, and the Biden administration and Democrats have done little to nothing to stop it.
While there is no justifiable excuse for their refusal to stop the border disaster, there is a more selfish and sinister reason for their unwillingness to do so. Biden and most Democrats want the border to remain open, as this creates a possible pathway for additional votes for Democrats.
The border crisis
A recent post by Fox News’ Griff Jenkins on X highlighted the travesty at the border. According to Jenkins, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) sources exclusively told FOX, “Since Dec 1st, there were more than 302,000 migrant encounters – the highest monthly total ever recorded. Since Oct 1st, there were more than 785,000 encounters – the highest first quarter on record.”
In a recent interview with Newsmax about the crisis at the southern border, Representative Mike Johnson, R-La., stated:
“The Biden administration has done this intentionally. [Department of Homeland Security] Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas has done this intentionally. For what reason? Everybody asks me all the time. I think that ultimately they hope to turn all these illegals into voters for their side. It sounds sinister, but there’s no other explanation for what’s happening down there. It’s an absolute humanitarian and now national security crisis — catastrophe really — and they could reverse it overnight if they wanted to, but they don’t.”
Democrats want noncitizens to vote
For years, Democrats have pushed to allow non-citizens and those who are in the country illegally to vote. While it is illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections, some states allow voting in state and local elections.
For example, Democrats in New York City wanted to grant non-citizens the right to vote in municipal elections. Specifically, several years ago, New York City passed a law allowing more than 800,000 noncitizens to vote in municipal elections. This effort was fortunately struck down. However, as reported at the time by Fox News:
“Expect to see many more blue state municipalities take steps to enfranchise non-citizen voters in the future. Though states are unlikely to openly permit illegal immigrants to vote, they don’t need to. They can simply do as California does – automatically register everyone who gets a driver’s license to vote, then do nothing to weed out the votes of illegal immigrants.”
Additionally, Democrats previously proposed H.R.1, a bill designed to federalize the nation’s elections, steal power from the individual states, and give Democrats a major advantage in future elections. In an article in the Boston Herald, Howie Carr discussed some of the concerns with H.R.1, including, but not limited to:
“H.R. 1 would also make it almost impossible to purge outdated rolls of dead, illegal or since-moved voters, you know, like the man born in 1820 who was still a registered voter in Michigan last November.
It expands automatic voter registration, such as signing up everyone with a driver’s license, even in Democrat states like California that issue licenses to hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants.”
A means to an end
Biden and the Democrats have every reason to allow non-citizens and illegal immigrants to vote. A 2014 article in the Washington Examiner, citing a report from the Center for Immigration Studies and authored by James Gimpel, a University of Maryland professor, concluded that immigrants tend to vote for Democrats.
The article, while written over 10 years ago, also cited another study:
“A 2012 study of 2,900 foreign-born, naturalized immigrants cited in the report showed that about 62 percent identified themselves as Democrats, while 25 percent identified as Republicans, and 13 percent identified as independents. At this moment, according to the report, there are an estimated 8.7 million immigrants in the U.S. who are eligible for naturalization. Not all will become voting citizens, but somewhere between 50 percent and 60 percent will. And it’s a sure bet that a majority will identify themselves as Democrats.”
Biden and the Democrats are certainly aware of these voting trends, which is one reason why they oppose any push to tighten election laws and make the nation’s elections more secure. Incidentally, they also want convicted felons to vote, as they also tend to support Democrats. An article in the Tampa Bay Times supports this conclusion.
President Donald J. Trump understands what Biden and the Democrats are doing. He understands why they are allowing people to enter the country illegally in record numbers.
As he recently stated on Truth Social, “The Invasion through our Southern Border is for purposes of voting…” Trump also wrote, “They are signing people up. Would be the END OF AMERICA. MAGA!”
Republicans must strongly push back against such efforts. If they fail to do so, Trump’s warning could turn out to be a painful and devastating lesson.
