As China welcomed world leaders to Beijing for the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and Japan’s surrender, President Donald Trump, posting on Truth Social, reminded the world of America’s indispensable role — not only in securing victory in World War II, but also in liberating the Chinese people from tyranny.
“Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against The United States of America,” wrote President Trump.
Nations can honor their history and show off their armies. But the timing, the weapons display, and the lineup of leaders were no coincidence. It was a warning.
Historians may argue about how many lives were lost in WWII, with many pointing to China’s massive casualties. But the truth is simple: the Allied powers, led by the United States and the United Kingdom, won the war. Without the United States, China, Russia, and North Korea would not even exist in their current forms.
President Trump, a patriot who understands history, knew exactly what this parade represented. Xi Jinping was not just looking back at history; he was putting America and its allies on notice. New missiles, drones, and technology rolled by as a love letter to the Communist Party and everything it stands for.
Eighty years later, nothing has changed. Democracy is still at odds with tyranny. China remains the world’s largest communist nation. Russia is nothing more than an authoritarian shell. North Korea is a dictatorship. They are united not by liberty, but by fear and control.
China’s goal is clear: to surpass America in trade, economics, and military power. That is the greatest threat to the American people today. But even with our struggles, the United States is still the shining city on a hill, still the example of freedom and liberty that the Communist Party despises.
Xi knows the truth. America is still stronger. NATO’s creed — an attack on one is an attack on all — has kept tyrants in check for generations. They know America never stands alone.
Look at Ukraine; Russia thought it would crush Kyiv in days. Instead, Ukraine, backed by American weaponry and its allies, stunned the world and humiliated Moscow. Israel, too, outnumbered and surrounded, has dismantled its enemies with great force and U.S. technology. China sees this, and it terrifies them.
China can march its soldiers and parade its tanks, but it cannot parade freedom. It does not have the sacrifice, the courage, or the blood-bought liberty that belongs to the American people. Americans are battle-tested. They have liberated the suffering again and again.
From Truman to Kennedy to Reagan, American leaders stood firm against communism and tyranny. Today, President Trump, who knows the stakes and refuses to back down, is always ready to stand against the new axis of tyranny.
Here’s the real meaning of China’s parade: they fear freedom. They fear America. They fear Donald J. Trump. And they should.
