Republican Senators will hold a joint press conference regarding House Joint Resolution 26, a bill to address the rampant crime in D.C. “Despite rising homicides, sexual abuse, motor vehicle thefts, and property crimes in our nation’s capital, the D.C. Council recently passed a soft-on-crime law to lessen penalties for criminals. H.J. Res. 26 would block this dangerous bill from going into effect. The House passed H.J. Res. 26 with a bipartisan vote last week, and Republican Senators will call on Senator Schumer to bring it up for a vote on the Senate floor.”
