Senator Roger Marshall, R-Kan., has congratulated Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on his confirmation as the Secretary of Health and Human Services and indicated he is ready to start working on advancing the MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) agenda.
“Congratulations to my good friend, Robert Kennedy Jr., on his confirmation as our new Secretary of HHS!” Marshall wrote in a post on X.
“For over 40 years — 25 of them as a doctor — I’ve been committed to Making America Healthy Again. I look forward to working alongside such an incredible visionary to achieve that mission,” he added.
Senator Marshall previously announced the creation of the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Caucus. The stated mission of the caucus is to focus on “nutrition, access to affordable, high-quality-nutrient-dense foods, improving primary care, and addressing the root causes of chronic diseases.”
Marshall’s MAHA Caucus includes fellow Republican Senators Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., Rick Scott, R-Fla., Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo. and Ron Johnson, R-Wis.
Senator Tuberville likewise congratulated Kennedy on his confirmation in a post on X.
“SECRETARY KENNEDY,” wrote Senator Tuberville. “Make America Healthy Again!”
On his way to vote for Kennedy’s confirmation, Senator Marshall indicated the MAHA agenda would receive legislative support from the MAHA Caucus, describing a package of bills focused on nutrition and agriculture.
President Trump has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enacting the MAHA agenda which was a crucial part of his presidential campaign. On Wednesday, following the confirmation of RFK Jr., President Trump announced the creation of the Make America Healthy Again Commission.
The commission will focus on enacting specific elements of the MAHA platform, including investigating the root causes of chronic illness, restoring trust in the health system and improving the overall health and wellbeing of Americans.
