Alabama’s Republican Gov. Kay Ivey has issued an executive order this week to fight against dictatorial Covid-19 vaccine mandates amidst preparations for a large-scale, anti-mandate protest at Auburn University.
Executive Order 724 is a direct rebuttal to the Biden administration’s nationwide push for overreaching vaccine mandates. The order ensures cooperation with the Alabama Attorney General’s office in regard to challenging federally-imposed vaccination requirements, as well as promising non-enforcement of federal coronavirus vaccine mandates in the state of Alabama.
Additionally, EO 724 affords protection for executive branch employees or contractors whose positions may jeopardized by vaccine requirements.
Although Gov. Ivey has received the coronavirus vaccine herself, she has made it clear in previous statements that she is wholly opposed to medical mandates of any kind. Remarking on the executive order she signed this week, she said: “The federal government’s outrageous overreach has simply given us no other option, but to begin taking action, which is why I am issuing this executive order to fight these egregious covid-19 vaccine mandates. Alabamians – and Americans alike – should and must have the choice to roll up their sleeves to get this shot and certainly not forced by government.”
“While President Biden laughs at the idea of protecting your freedoms, I will continue fighting for Alabama businesses and their employees,” she continued.
States across the union have continued to vary in their stances toward Joe Biden’s radical push for federal mandates. States like Texas, Florida, and now, Alabama, have taken strong stances to protect their sovereignty in light of such an egregious federal overreach, while states like California and New York, both dominated by Democrat governors, have no intention of fighting the Biden Administration’s medical edicts.
In her concluding remarks, Gov. Ivey took a swing at Joe Biden and his vaccine push. “I am adamantly opposed to federal mandates related to the covid-19 vaccine and adamantly opposed to state mandates related to the covid-19 vaccine, plain and simple,” she stated.
“As long as I am your governor, the state of Alabama will not force anyone to take a covid-19 vaccine. Through today’s order, the state of Alabama is making our position on this issue crystal clear. A state law in response to President Biden is not enough. The courts are where this will be resolved. Today is one step in this fight, but certainly not the last,” Ivey added.
Ivey’s move came one day before a protest is set to take place on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. ET at Toomer’s Corner at Auburn University. The protest, which will be focused on “Freedom Not Force,” will be broadcast live on Right Side Broadcasting Network.

Through this order, the federal government is requiring all federal contractors and subcontractors to mandate Covid-19 vaccinations for employees, including those who work at a university with federal contracts directly impacting Auburn University and its employees.
