U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was spotted in Miami Beach, Fla. on Thursday, dining maskless, despite strongly supporting both tyrannical mask and vaccine mandates on the political stage.
Ocasio-Cortez, who is often referred to as AOC, was facetiously welcomed to the Sunshine State via “Team DeSantis” on Twitter, who humorously poked fun at AOC’s hypocritical behavior: “Welcome to Florida, AOC!” the tweet reads. “We hope you’re enjoying a taste of freedom here in the Sunshine State thanks to @RonDeSantisFL’s leadership.”
AOC has served as a representative for the 14th district of New York since 2019, a state that is currently struggling with a massive surge in Covid cases. According to the Daily Mail, over 20 percent of New York City’s police officers and 30 percent of paramedics were out sick this week.
Previously, AOC said that, “’Mask wearing is also something I’ll probably continue doing overall from time to time if I feel like I might be coming down with something and don’t want to spread it.”
AOC’s decision to vacation and dine in Florida comes across as stunningly hypocritical in light of her current position on strict vaccine and mask mandates.
Florida, under the strong leadership of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, has opposed tyrannical mandates and kept the state open for business amidst rumblings of never-ending coronavirus variants such as the Delta and Omicron. As a result, Florida has demonstrated the lowest Covid case numbers in the country, in addition to adding 50,000 new jobs in the month of November, which is six times faster than the rest of the country, according to a previous report from RSBN.
AOC’s vacation time in Florida highlights an obvious but simple truth: red states like Florida, where individual liberty and freedom of medical choice are still valued, are not only doing dramatically better in terms of Covid cases, but they are also blossoming economically. Businesses are open in Florida, and Americans have the freedom to dine and travel as they choose.
Despite AOC’s support of restrictive and unconstitutional mandates that attack Americans’ freedoms, she appears to be perfectly fine exercising her own right to individual liberty while demanding that others give it up.
