President Trump’s oldest granddaughter, Kai Madison Trump, gave a speech at the Republican National Convention, which earned her a standing ovation.

Kai Trump’s speech was a late addition to the day’s events held at the Milwaukee convention, running from July 15 to July 18. According to Trending Politics News, Madison had reportedly asked her father, Donald Trump Jr., if she could get the chance to speak.

As Donald Trump Jr. took to the stage, he first told the audience, “Before I begin my remarks, I’m going to do something a little uncharacteristic. A Trump is going to give up the microphone.” He introduced his daughter, who wanted to share the side of her grandpa that people don’t often get to see.

The 17-year-old told the audience that President Trump was just like a normal grandpa. She revealed happily, “He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking. He always wants to know how we’re doing in school.” Kai Trump and her grandfather share something in common: golf. She said, “He calls me during the middle of the school day to ask how my golf game is going and tells me all about his.”

Kai Trump’s speech elicited many big smiles and laughs, but she did touch on the shocking assassination attempt at the Pennsylvania rally, saying that she was shocked to learn what happened. Her speech shows that despite how much the mainstream media tries to portray President Trump, one thing is clear: he loves his grandchildren and is an inspirational figure in their lives.

In closing, Kai Trump told listeners that despite what the media makes her grandfather look like, he is “very caring and loving. He truly wants the best for this country, and he will fight every single day to make America great again.”
