White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced the Biden administration’s latest push to “lend” Ukraine $50 billion before President-elect Donald Trump reclaims the White House next month.

Jean-Pierre stated Tuesday, “We will leverage income earned from frozen Russian sovereign assets to provide a total of $50 billion dollars of extraordinary revenue acceleration ERA loans to Ukraine.”

She claimed that this will help the people of that nation and hold “tyrants” responsible for damage.

This comes after the Pentagon miscalculated $2 billion in funding over the summer, per Reuters, and Axios reported that over $1 billion in weapons were not properly accounted for back in January.

Mismanagement of equipment and funds have been a continuous issue for the U.S. military, causing Americans to question increasing taxpayer funded aid for foreign wars. Just last month, the Pentagon failed its seventh annual audit, via Fox News

Despite the Biden administration’s continued support for funding the War in Ukraine, American confidence in the military dropped to its lowest level in two decades last year, per a 2023 Gallup Poll

In addition, Biden received his second lowest approval rating last month. A November 2024 Gallup Poll displayed that just 37 percent of Americans approve of his policies. That is just one point above his lowest approval rating, received in July.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., summed up popular criticisms of the latest spending spree. She recalled the American victims of Hurricane Helene who are still suffering over two months after the storm.

She wrote on X, “There are a lot of hurting Americans, like those in WNC, that could use vital assistance from their own U.S. government!!”
