Joe Biden’s approval rating has reached a new low among Independent voters following the unprecedented actions of his Justice Department against President Donald Trump last month.

According to an Aug. 29 YouGov America poll, only 26.7 percent of Independent voters now approve of Biden’s performance in office. Conversely, a whopping 64.1 percent said they disapprove, and 8.9 percent said they were not sure.

Notably, on Aug. 1 – one week before the FBI raided President Trump’s home – Biden’s approval rating stood at 29 percent among the same group, which would suggest that the controversial event has negatively affected his score.

The poll’s findings align with those of a recent Rasmussen Reports poll, which found that 46 percent of unaffiliated voters had a negative reaction to the raid, reporting that the move had caused them to trust the FBI less.

Perhaps even more concerning for Biden is the fact that 49 percent of Independents said they felt that he was using the bureau as his “personal Gestapo.”

The news of Biden’s dismal approval rating also follows an ominous and sinister speech he gave in Philadelphia Thursday, during which he accused Trump and “MAGA Republicans” of being a “threat to American democracy.”

Unsurprisingly, the remarks were met with outrage from Republicans, with many likening the unsettling imagery of the scene to what one might expect from Hitler’s Third Reich.

On Saturday, Trump responded to Biden’s verbal attack with some choice words of his own, stating: “As you know, this week Joe Biden came to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to give the most vicious, hateful, and divisive speech ever delivered by an American president, vilifying 75 million citizens … as threats to democracy and as enemies of the state. … He’s an enemy of the state if you want to know the truth. The enemy of the state is him and the group that control him, which is circling around him.”

Offering attendees a more optimistic perspective on what it means to be a “MAGA Republican,” the president added: “[Biden] thinks Making America Great Again is a threat to our country. No, Making America Great Again is great for our country.”
