Gen. Keith Kellogg warned the United States Thursday that America’s adversaries worldwide are going to be closely watching how the Biden administration handles Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Kellogg told Fox Business, “Everybody is going to watch President Biden and how he reacts to this as a leader of the free world.” Kellogg explained that Biden will have to change the narrative, saying, “He’s now a wartime leader. He needs to understand that.”
The general stated, “We’re in the fog of war, and we really are right now. We’re really not too sure what is happening because it has this kind of sort itself out is how deep is Putin going to go?” After presenting several different scenarios that Putin could choose, he added, “I think that will sort itself out over the next few hours.”
Putin’s goal, Kellogg said, is “to decapitate the government of Ukraine.” The general highlighted Putin’s likely strategy, saying, “He wants to take Zelensky out. He wants to put somebody that is like him in control of Ukraine. And then he probably wants to control as much of it as he can.”
Kellogg concluded his assessment of Putin’s course of action, saying, “So he’s going to have to make some decisions on where he wants to go and what he wants to do, but is it an invasion? Absolutely.”
“This is a global issue,” Kellogg warned. “It’s not a European issue anymore. And reason I say that is President Xi of China is watching this. The Supreme Leader in Iran is watching this. Kim Jong-un is watching this. Everybody is going to watch President Biden and how he reacts to this as a leader of the free world.”
Taiwan’s air force warned nine Chinese aircraft to leave Taiwan’s air defense zone after the Chinese aircraft entered into Taiwan’s air defense zone Thursday, according to a report by Newsmax. Taiwan’s government is on heightened alert as Russia invades Ukraine.
Newsmax reported, “Taiwan has been warily watching the Ukraine crisis, nervous that China may try to take advantage to move on the island.”
Trump recently explained how America’s adversaries have become emboldened. “How we got here is when they watched Afghanistan, and they watched the most incompetent withdrawal in the history of probably any army, let alone just us,” he said, “and President Xi and President Putin-watch what happens with China very soon with Taiwan-and they watched that, and they said: ‘What’s going on? They don’t know what they’re doing.’ And all of a sudden I think they got a lot more ambitious.”
RSBN reported Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war against Ukraine Wednesday night, launching missiles into Ukraine, including the capital city of Kyiv.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy released a statement Thursday, asserting, “Russia treacherously attacked our state in the morning, as Nazi Germany did in 2WW years. As of today, our countries are on different sides of world history. ?? has embarked on a path of evil, but ?? is defending itself & won’t give up its freedom no matter what Moscow thinks.”
As the situation between Russia and Ukraine continues to spiral out of control, U.S. leaders are concerned that Europe could be heading toward a much larger war. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, recently stated, “Tragically, Europe is on the verge of war because of the weakness, the fecklessness of Joe Biden.”
Under the weakness of the Biden administration, America’s adversaries have gained the upper hand in world affairs, leading to the current situation in Ukraine.
As America considers how to respond to the crisis in Ukraine, the United States must also be aware of possible threats from China, Iran, and North Korea.
