Joe Biden has made various eyebrow-raising comments since taking office in 2021, but his most recent remarks on Monday while commemorating the 22nd anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks might take the cake.

While speaking in Alaska and addressing the 2001 attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people, he claimed that he visited Ground Zero at the fallen World Trade Center on Sept. 12, 2001, just one day after the attacks were carried out.

However, there is no evidence to prove this statement. According to Newsweek, then-Senator Joe Biden gave a speech in Washington, D.C., in the U.S. Senate that directly addressed the terrorist attacks from the day before.

President Donald Trump was quick to point out Joe Biden’s “BIG LIE” on Truth Social on Tuesday, writing, “CROOKED JOE JUST SAID HE WAS IN NYC ON SEPTEMBER 12, ONE DAY AFTER THE FALL OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER. THIS WAS IMMEDIATELY PROVEN TO BE NOT SO – A TOTAL LIE (LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE HE SAYS!).”

It is worth noting that President Trump, unlike Joe Biden, was in New York on the day the terror attacks were carried out, where he said in a 2001 interview with WWOR/UPN 9 that he witnessed the attacks from his vantage point in his apartment.

Trump visited Ground Zero soon after, deploying a crew of his own employees to help clear the ruins and assist first responders in any way possible. “New Yorkers are very strong and resilient, and they’ll rebuild quickly,” he told a local reporter after visiting Ground Zero for the first time in 2001.

Biden’s confusing statement about his whereabouts contradicts what he wrote in his own 2007 memoir, Newsweek also reported, when he stated that he went to the U.S. Capitol on Sept. 12, 2001.
