Former First Lady Melania Trump made a public appearance Tuesday, attending the tribute service for Rosalynn Carter in Georgia.

Melania Trump was seen walking down to her seat alongside current First Lady Jill Biden as well as former First Ladies Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, and Hillary Clinton. Melania’s appearance marks a new start for the former First Lady, who is re-entering the public eye, according to CNN.

Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter passed away on Nov. 19 in Plains, Georgia, at 96 years old. Married to former President Jimmy Carter for 77 years, Rosalynn was described as a passionate champion of mental health, caregiving, and women’s rights,” according to the Carter Center

“Melania and I join all Americans in mourning the loss of Rosalynn Carter,” 45th President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social following the news of Rosalynn’s passing, according to Newsweek. “She was a devoted First Lady, a great humanitarian, a champion of mental health, and a beloved wife to her husband for 77 years, President Carter.”

Since leaving the White House in 2021, Melania Trump has reportedly avoided the public eye, focusing more on her son, Baron, who is expected to graduate from high school in Florida next year, a close source to Melania reportedly told CNN.

Although she has been on the quieter side, Melania has notably supported President Donald Trump’s run for 2024 president, appearing at his announcement back in November 2022, the outlet also reported.

“He has my support, and we look forward to restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength,” Melania told Fox News back in May.
