Florida Governor Ron DeSantis delivered a clear message last week that his state is his top priority. He noted in a recent address that Florida is growing in population, business opportunities, and budget surpluses.
He accredited these successes to low taxes, low “debt burdens,” and high tourism numbers that place Florida as the #1 state to visit in the country.
The governor detailed support for law enforcement and the fact that the state’s crime rate has dropped to “a 50-year low.”
Education, parental rights, infrastructure, medical rights, and other areas of interest were also noted to display his leadership skills.
While many Americans are questioning whether or not he will run for president in the 2024 election race, per Fox News, DeSantis continues to affirm that Florida is his main focus.
During his governorship, DeSantis became popular for defending individual rights throughout the pandemic. He openly fought against mask mandates and vaccine requirements, per NBC Miami.
In addition, he has continued to fight against wokeism. His most famous battles have been led against corporate giant, Disney, and gender theory lessons in the education system.
According to CBS News, after his reelection in 2022, DeSantis stated, “Florida is where woke goes to die.”
He reminded his constituents of this in his address stating, “We did it our way, the Florida way.”
