Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., expressed gratitude for the blessings our Founding Fathers secured for us and urged Americans “to protect” them.
During a sit-down with Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro, a conservative talkshow and podcast host, DeSantis gave some insight into his decision to run again for governor and his accomplishments for the state of Florida thus far.
“In 2012, that was kind of during the Obama era, and I really saw Obama taking the country in a direction that was not consistent with the core founding principles of the country,” DeSantis explained. “In fact, I even wrote a book…where I kinda talked about how the founders conceived us, how people like Lincoln and Reagan abide by these principles and how we were really veering off that.”
The Florida governor described that the problems he was writing back then are “quaint” compared to what the country is facing today.
With rising inflation, the international crisis of Afghanistan, and government overstep with medical freedoms regarding the Covid-19 vaccine, the country is nowhere near where it was in 2012.
DeSantis continued to list other reasons why the left is more aggressive than it was in the Obama era, citing the influence of mostly liberal entities like Big Tech, corporate media, and academia.
“So I got into it because I saw some things going wrong,” he said. “Here in Florida, the good thing about it is, you can actually do something about it.”
“A lot of these big bills, they’ll be thousands of pages, they do it behind closed doors, and shove it down the throats of everyone and you don’t even have time to read it,” DeSantis explained referring to the Democrat leadership in Washington D.C.
“I probably did more as governor within my first two weeks in terms of tangible, long-lasting, accomplishments than a normal congressman can do in a decade,” he added.
DeSantis has accomplished much for the state of Florida. Recently, he signed a law that there would be no Covid-19 vaccine mandates in the state in a jab at Joe Biden by signing it in the town of Brandon, Fla.
