Earlier this year, shocking reports emerged that a secret Chinese-run bio-lab had been uncovered in the heart of California, hidden away in an old warehouse in a small town called Reedley.
As reported by RSBN, the lab was unauthorized and it was shockingly found to contain nearly 1,000 genetically engineered mice, as well as multiple viral, bacterial, and parasitic solutions. The mice were infected with the Covid-19 virus.
In the last week, a new report from the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party illustrated alarming and shocking information about what was found there.
Rep. Kevin Kiley, R-Calif., has been a vocal proponent of pushing for transparency and accountability on the issue of the uncovered bio-lab, joining former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., in calling for an initial investigation of the lab in August.
In an article written on the congressman’s official website, he broke down the main findings of the report, most disturbingly highlighting the identity of the man who ran the lab.
From Kiley’s breakdown:
“The lab was run by Jiabei ‘Jesse’ Zhu, an international fugitive from China. After running various Chinese companies, he moved to Canada and set up dozens of corporations to steal American intellectual property; the Supreme Court of British Columbia found he committed ‘fraud on an epic scale,’ resulting in a $330 million judgment. He then fled to America, assumed the alias ‘David He,’ and set up several more companies, including the one behind the bio lab.”
Per RSBN, the bioengineering company behind the lab, Prestige Biotech Inc. (previously Universal Meditech Inc.), was reportedly awarded a six-digit grant by Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., in 2019.
When the lab was initially discovered, a code inspector discovered that “Chinese nationals ‘wearing white lab coats, glasses, masks, and latex gloves,’ along with ‘thousands of vials of biological substances’ and 1,000 mice.”
Allegedly, the lab’s “purpose” was to “manufacture COVID test kits,” but in reality, the company re-sold counterfeit kits from China.” Further, reported money wire transfers from China were traced to the fugitive Zhu’s account.
Most disturbingly of all, it is unknown how many other illegal Chinese bio-labs could be hidden across the United States.
Just the News revealed that this new report from the Select Committee came as Chinese President Xi took a red-carpet visit to California, where he met with Gov. Newsom and Joe Biden for a summit.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of California, Zhu was indicted on three counts of distributing adulterated and misbranded Covid tests and “lying to authorities.”
They stated that Zhu faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted for the counts of “adulterated and misbranding of medical devices” and another five years in prison and an additional $250,000 fine for making false statements.
