Republican voter registrations continue to climb in Florida

The Republican Party continues to make gains in the Sunshine State, thanks to Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., and his strong conservative policies.

According to a tweet from Scott Presler, who is best known for his work to register GOP voters across America, Pinellas County Republicans now hold a lead of 2,418 voter registrations.

This uptick in Republican voters continues a trend that began in 2021 when Florida’s registered Republicans surpassed Democrats for the first time in the state’s history. In November, Gov. DeSantis stated, “Today, for the first time in the history of Florida, we’ve now overtaken Democrats.” Republicans even managed to flip a historically-blue Jacksonville City Council Seat in February, replacing Democrat Trayce Polson with Republican Nick Howland.

Florida has become a favored state for conservatives seeking freedom. Spectrum News reported last summer that trends show an estimated 845 people will continue to relocate to the Sunshine State every day until 2025. Amidst an increasingly tyrannical Biden administration that has shamelessly backed vaccine mandates and liberty-restricting Covid regulations across the country, Florida has remained a stronghold for individual liberty.

Florida’s rise to conservative popularity is primarily due to the leadership of Gov. Ron DeSantis. He has long decried medical mandates and edicts from the Biden administration, declaring that his state would be “taking a stand to protect the Constitution, the economy, and the right of Floridians to earn a living and make their own individual health decisions.”

Further, according to a February Civiqs poll, only one-third of Americans favor Biden. Only one-third of Floridians approve of his performance in the White House to date.

Gov. DeSantis’ leadership has drawn the attention of thousands of Americans who are seeking freedom during a time when freedom seems to be under attack from all sides.
