Labor Day 2025 looks a lot better than last year, thanks to the leadership of President Donald Trump and his unshakeable dedication to putting Americans first.
This year, the holiday weekend stands to be the cheapest it’s been since the pandemic, with gas prices plummeting nationwide and travel costs dropping across the board.
“President Trump campaigned on lowering costs and this Labor Day Weekend, the American people will see the results firsthand at the gas pump — with the lowest gas prices in years,” said Energy Secretary Chris Wright in an official statement.
According to Fox Business, gas prices over the weekend are the lowest they’ve been since 2020, with a nationwide average of $3.15 per gallon.
And, while Americans have consistently cut back on vacations due to Biden-sparked rising prices, in 2025, travel costs are finally easing a bit, which may reverse that trend.
According to recent statistics from AAA, hotel rates are 11 percent lower than last year, and round-trip airline flights have dropped six percent.
One of the primary drivers behind lower prices at the pump is that President Trump has supercharged domestic energy production in America, with a special focus on gas and oil development.
“Produce more energy in America, you get lower prices, you get more jobs – that’s our platform,” Secretary Wright told Fox this week.
This commitment to domestic energy creation was a key component of President Trump’s 2024 campaign, and he has certainly gone above and beyond to keep his promises on that issue.
“The minute I’m back in the White House, not only will I impose the most crippling sanctions in history, we will also unleash our most powerful economic weapon: We will DRILL BABY DRILL!” he vowed in 2023, during remarks in Derry, New Hampshire.
President Trump immediately took action on January 20 to fulfill that promise.
On Inauguration Day, he signed an executive order, “Unleashing American Energy,” which made it the policy of the United States to encourage energy exploration, eliminate the Biden-era electric vehicle mandate, and boost energy production on federal lands and waters.
Amid this amazing increase in energy production, which has spurred the decrease in energy prices for everyday Americans, Trump has also secured trillions of dollars of investment in U.S. manufacturing and production. This will additionally create hundreds of thousands of new job opportunities and further drive the economy forward.
“We are making it easier to buy American and hire American, breathing new life into our manufacturing cities, and securing fair trade deals that protect our jobs and reward our productivity,” the president said in an official Labor Day proclamation.
He continued, “We are amassing hundreds of billions of dollars in tariff revenue and ensuring that every product of American craftsmanship is appreciated for its true value in overseas markets. Under my leadership, we are bringing jobs back to America — and those jobs are going to American-born workers.”
Indeed, with President Trump in the White House, the economy has come back to life, and hope is rising once again in the hearts of the American people this Labor Day weekend.
