On Sunday, President Trump visited NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, stirring up fun with fans and racecar drivers with candid scenes in pit lane and beyond.

The race was shortened due to rain, but that didn’t stop fans from showing up to watch the competition, nor did it stop President Trump from mingling with racing teams and paying his respects to the U.S. during the National Anthem.

The Trump Team captured photos and video of the president’s day at the track, which were cataloged online for the nation to see.

At one point, Trump even met with famed NASCAR driver “The King” Richard Petty in one of the trackside viewing boxes. The two men shook hands and embraced, chatting briefly and laughing a bit while photographers looked on and captured the special moment.

President Trump watched the race from the pit box for the Number 3 Chevrolet car, driven by Austin Dillon and sponsored by Brass Pro Shops. The crowd of nearly 80,000 people showed their enthusiasm for the 45th president as he made appearances, cheering him on and, when possible, taking photos and videos on their cell phones.

The crowd even chanted “USA” when he entered the pit box for the Number 3 car.

As reported by RSBN, Trump is the first president to attend the Coca-Cola 600, and his visit on Sunday marked yet another historic trip to an all-American sport. Earlier this year, he attended the Formula One Grand Prix in Miami, Florida. He has also attended multiple UFC fights over the past year.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Trump met with Charlotte law enforcement and Gold Star families before the start of the race in honor of Memorial Day weekend.

The winner of the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday was Christopher Bell, the driver of the Number 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, who clinched the victory on lap 249 amidst inclement weather delays and, ultimately, an early victory lap.
