Illegal border crossings in Arizona have hit a record low in 2025 during President Donald Trump’s first year in office.

According to newly released Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data, Arizona’s reported illegal border crossings and fell 92 percent from under the Biden administration.

Illegal entries into Arizona were also 66 percent less than the total number of gotaways that Border Patrol agents reported in the state under the Biden administration, JustTheNews reported.

In total, 65,813 illegal border crossers were apprehended in Arizona during fiscal year 2025. Meanwhile, over 775,000 illegal border crossings were reported in fiscal 2023 under Joe Biden, according to the network.

Another 564,215 was recorded by CBP in fiscal 2024, not including gotaways—a term used to describe those who enter illegally between ports of entry to evade capture, failing to file immigration claims while not returning to Mexico.

Roughly two million gotaways reportedly entered the country illegally under Joe Biden, The Center Square reported.

These numbers come amid President Trump’s push to crack down on the nation’s border security, particularly after the Biden years.

During the 2024 campaign, the president pledged to deport those who crossed the border illegally while continuing construction on a wall between the United States and Mexico.
