A woman known as the “Praying Grandma” has been found guilty of misdemeanor charges related to walking into the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, multiple sources have reported.

Rebecca Lavrenz allegedly spent ten minutes inside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, according to The Gazette, and is facing up to a year in prison and $200,000 in fines for merely walking inside, lingering for around ten minutes, and then exiting the building.

On X, Lavrenz has shared insights about her trial journey, providing updates on what it’s been like to face the wrath of the D.C. justice system.

She posted on April 2, “On the witness stand almost five hours yesterday defending God, my country, and my First Amendment Rights. Now jury deliberation will go into the third day tomorrow. Let’s see what God does!”

Lavrenz maintains that she was peaceful while she was inside the Capitol.

Via The Gazette, she explained, “I didn’t say anything, I didn’t shout or wave. I didn’t see any violence when I was in the Capitol, and there was no damage…I felt God’s presence in me and just made my presence known to let Congress know we the people voted them in office, and we were saying you need to listen to what we’re saying.”

In late March, she posted a video to X on Good Friday, discussing her imminent testimony on the witness stand. “Thank you so much for standing with me and your love for God and our country,” she said.

Lavrenz has consistently maintained a positive attitude throughout her legal ordeal. Headed into her trial, she also wrote, “Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS!” on X.

President Donald Trump has taken a strong stance on the situation of the Jan. 6 protestors who have been imprisoned for their alleged part in being present at the U.S. Capitol in 2021. He has vowed to “Free the January 6 Hostages being wrongfully imprisoned!” Trump has stated that this will be one of the first of three immediate actions he will take upon taking back the White House in a prospective 2025 administration.

Lavrenz has been charged with several misdemeanors, including remaining in a restricted building and disruptive conduct in a restricted building, per The Gazette.
