White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is planning on leaving the Biden administration for a television role at MSNBC, according to reports released Friday morning.

Axios media reporter Sara Fischer claims that Psaki has been negotiating a contract with MSNBC that would result in her hosting a show for MSNBC after she leaves the Biden administration during or near the month of May.

Fox News confirmed that Psaki will be leaving the White House for a role at MSNBC. The network also reported that MSNBC was in a bidding war with CNN for a contract with Psaki. She now appears to be prepared to join MSNBC as a host of a brand new show on the streaming platform Peacock. Additionally, she will be a contributor on multiple cable shows for MSNBC.

Psaki’s departure from the White House is not unexpected, as the press secretary has been rumored to be planning a move to television after her time in the Biden administration. While the White House faces problems such as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, skyrocketing energy costs, and record inflation, many see Psaki’s move as an attempt to escape a sinking ship.

Responding to the news, Florida Republican congressional candidate, Lavern Spicer, explained the irony of Psaki escaping the disaster of the White House to join the failing liberal media. She wrote, “Psaki leaving the White House to host a show for MSNBC is like jumping off the Hindenburg and landing on the Titanic.”

While Psaki has not officially announced her departure from the White House, The Hill reports she has talked with senior White House officials about her move to MSNBC.

Republicans have been quick to blast Psaki for joining the liberal media after her time as White House Press Secretary. Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., tweeted, “Psaki goes to the one place with lower ratings than the White House, perfectly done madame.”

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., predicts that Psaki’s new role will be identical to her current role in the White House due to the liberal news media’s relationship with the Biden administration. He stated, “I hear Jen Psaki is taking a job with MSNBC. At least she’ll still be working for the White House.”

Psaki has been criticized for attempting to clean up Biden’s countless blunders and for her trademark phrase of “circling back” to answer reporter’s questions. Lately, her press conferences have focused on inadequately addressing problems plaguing the American people, leading Republicans to criticize her inability to explain how the administration is solving them.

Former Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany recently called Psaki a “Debbie Downer” for constantly having negative news to share during press hearings. She said, “Make those events not happen by being strong on the world stage and fixing problems here at home. I’m tired of Debbie Downer.”
