Kai Trump, the granddaughter of President Donald Trump and a rising amateur golfer, has been selected to play in her first LPGA event next month, tournament organizers announced Tuesday.

Trump will compete in “The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican,” part of the LPGA fall series scheduled for Nov. 10 through 16 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida.

The oldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr., she is a senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach and has committed to join the University of Miami women’s golf program this fall.

Trump has played in junior and amateur tournaments on the American Junior Golf Association circuit and the South Florida PGA’s Srixon Medalist Tour. Her top finish this year was third place at a July event.

“My dream has been to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour,” Kai Trump said in a statement accepting a sponsor invitation. “This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward meeting and competing against so many of my heroes and mentors in golf as I make my LPGA Tour debut.”

She will participate alongside WNBA star Caitlin Clark, who is also an invitee. The tournament is hosted by Hall of Famer Annika Sörenstam and will feature some of the top players in women’s golf, including Nelly Korda, Charley Hull and Lexi Thompson.

“Kai Trump has a tremendous passion for the game and is expanding the sport to broader audiences,” said Justin Sheehan, Pelican Golf Club’s Director of Golf and COO. “She has a bright future at Miami, and we look forward to welcoming her and our entire tournament field to Pelican Golf Club in November.”

According to ABC News, Kai Trump has built a combined audience of more than 6 million followers across four social platforms, and she recently launched an apparel and lifestyle brand that supports young women in sports.

President Trump frequently discusses his granddaughter’s progress in the sport. Kai Trump also made national headlines for a short speech given during the 2024 Republican National Convention.
