Rep. Kevin Kiley, R-Calif., has joined Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., in his call for an investigation into the troubling secrets that have been uncovered in California in a rural town in Fresno County.
In July, it was revealed that an unlicensed Chinese-owned bio lab had been operating inside an abandoned warehouse in the small California city of Reedley. According to The Epoch Times, federal and local authorities began investigating the property in March, but the revelations of what had been found were not shared with the public for another four months.
A disturbing collection of chemicals, hundreds of infected mice, and numerous bacterial, viral, and parasitic solutions and samples were discovered inside, The Epoch Times reported. 900 mice had been infected with the Covid-19 virus.
Rep. Kiley highlighted some of the most alarming facts regarding the Chinese-owned operation on X, noting, “I am joining the Speaker’s call for an investigation by the Select Committee on China.”
He additionally shared the following information about the lab:
- “The lab was run by Prestige Biotech Inc, whose owners live in China.
- The Newsom Administration awarded the company a $360,000 tax credit in 2019.
- The lab was operating without a license and was committing numerous code violations.
- Mice at the lab were ‘genetically engineered to catch and carry’ COVID and other diseases.’ Toxic chemicals, vials of blood, and other materials were also discovered.
- Fresno’s city manager said: ‘They were bad actors. They never came to the city and they moved in in the middle of the night. Those are pretty big elements that tell us they did not want us to know they were here.’
- The CDC told the Associated Press it ‘has taken no further action in this matter.’”
Per ABC30 Fresno, all of the biological agents, mice, and bodily fluids found on the property have now been destroyed. Reedley City Manager Nicole Zieba said during a Tuesday board meeting that the Chinese lab was simply a “bad actor company” that had a history of being kicked out of town after town before finally finding its way to Reedley.
Many questions, however, remain, including why the public wasn’t immediately notified of what some are facetiously calling “Wuhan 2.0” after it was discovered in March.
Even worse, the Newsom administration’s decision to award Prestige Biotech Inc. a six-digit grant has caused many California taxpayers to do a double-take.
