The first day of the Republican National Convention (RNC) kicks off Monday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where President Donald Trump and GOP leaders will focus on the nation’s economy.
The theme “Make America Wealthy Once Again” is set to provide a bold vision for the next four years in contrast with the Bidenflation under Democrats during the current term.
“During the first Trump administration, America experienced an unprecedented economic boom. President Trump’s America First economic policies slashed cumbersome regulations, cut tax rates, and reworked trade deals to create a fairer playing field for American industry and workers,” the Trump campaign’s statement for Monday’s agenda stated.
“Under the Biden-Harris administration, all of this progress has stalled or reversed – real wages for American workers are lower than before Biden took office, meanwhile inflation and high energy prices thanks to the Biden’s Green New Deal-inspired, anti-drilling agenda have made everyday life unaffordable for working-class Americans,” it added.
Blasting “Bidenomics,” Trump vows to lead the American economy to greatness, restoring a new period of growth for all citizens.
“The second Trump administration will turn the page on the mindless “Bidenomics” agenda and usher in a new age of prosperity,” the agenda added.
The RNC’s tone also takes on new meaning following an assassination attempt against Trump on Saturday during his rally at Butler Family Farms in Pennsylvania. One attendee was killed, with two others injured, while Trump’s right ear was grazed by a bullet before the shooter was eliminated.
The shooter, identified as 20-year-old Bethel Park resident Thomas Matthew Crooks, first approximately eight shots at Trump and the crowd before being taken out by a counter-sniper.
Trump was led off the platform by Secret Service personnel, but not before raising his fist and shouting, “Fight!” He was later released from the hospital and is now in Milwaukee for the convention.
In a Sunday post to Truth Social, Trump explained his plans to move forward with the RNC as planned.
“Based on yesterday’s terrible events, I was going to delay my trip to Wisconsin, and The Republican National Convention, by two days, but have just decided that I cannot allow a ‘shooter,’ or potential assassin, to force change to scheduling, or anything else,” he wrote.
“Therefore, I will be leaving for Milwaukee, as scheduled, at 3:00 P.M. TODAY. Thank You! DJT,” he concluded.
Trump Senior Advisor Dan Scavino Jr. also shared words from Trump on Sunday.
“In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win. I truly love our Country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our Great Nation this week from Wisconsin,” Trump said, according to Scavino.
