Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., offered a fiery assessment of the Pentagon leak situation. In a tweet Thursday, she decried the “Biden regime” for encouraging the Ukraine-Russia war.
She defended the leaker, stating, “Jake Teixeira is white, male, Christian, and antiwar. That makes him an enemy to the Biden regime.”
Teixeira was arrested Thursday, via USA Today. According to the Washington Post, he exposed the U.S. government’s role in escalating the conflict, spying on allies, and revealed that the war in Ukraine is heading toward a “stalemate.”
The documents were originally posted to Discord and then circulated through 4Chan. They eventually made their way to mainstream social media, but have since been wiped. Now, the Biden administration is using the situation as an excuse to push for more online surveillance, via NBC News.
This comes after the Senate’s proposed Restrict Act has received harsh criticisms for its invasion of privacy, precrime clauses, and unconstitutionality. Former House Representative Tulsi Gabbard compared it to an extension of the Patriot Act, per Real Clear Politics.
Greene’s opposition to the war in Ukraine, unconstitutional practices, and political persecution have been stated time and again. Now she is standing up for a military serviceman for exposing questionable U.S. government war practices.
