Amid Hamas’s horrific attacks on the state of Israel, the Biden administration has faced criticism over its recent move to unfreeze $6 billion to Iran for a prisoner exchange deal. Some speculate that the funding released to Iran has been used to fund the Palestinian terrorist group’s full-scale attack on Israel.

In light of this speculation, the Committee on Oversight and Accountability announced Wednesday that it “is investigating the Biden Administration’s efforts to conceal details about its ongoing secret nuclear negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran from Congress, ignoring statutory obligations for congressional oversight.”

Reps. James Comer and Glenn Grothman made this statement in a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, which was released on X.

Slamming the Biden administration’s lack of transparency, the congressmen wrote that it is “even more troubling in light of press reports’ about Iran’s direct role in this weekend’s horrific attack on Israel by Hamas” in addition to other “revelations that former Special Envoy for Iran (SEI), Robert Malley, and members of his negotiating team may have had compromising ties to the Iranian regime.”

“We request documents. information, and a briefing to assist the Committee’s investigation of these matters,” wrote Comer and Grothman.
