Georgia’s Trump-endorsed gubernatorial candidate, David Perdue, will go head to head against incumbent Republican Gov. Brian Kemp in three official debates before next month’s heated primary race.

Georgia’s gubernatorial showdown has drawn the entire country’s attention, and there are just seven weeks to go until the primary battle lines are drawn.

According to a report from Fox News, the debates will be hosted on April 24, April 28, and May 1. They will be televised with WSB-TV, WTOC/Gray TV, the Atlanta Press Club, and Georgia Public Broadcasting.

President Donald Trump has made it abundantly clear that Gov. Kemp is not on his good side, calling him a “horrendous RINO” in a previous statement made during his remarks at David Perdue’s Mar-a-Lago fundraiser in March.

Late last month, Trump also held a Save America rally in Commerce, Georgia, to drum up additional support and enthusiasm for Purdue’s campaign. Trump called Kemp a “turncoat” and a “coward” for not acting to deal with reports of staggering election fraud regarding the 2020 presidential election.

Interestingly, President Trump endorsed Gov. Kemp four years ago in his initial bid for governor in the Peach State and has repeatedly voiced his disappointment in Kemp for “paving the way for election fraud.” Trump commented during the March rally, “He didn’t do a damn thing [about fraud]!”

Unlike Kemp, David Perdue has garnered a glowing endorsement from the 45th president.

“The Democrats walked all over Brian Kemp,” Trump said in an official campaign endorsement video posted to Perdue’s Twitter account. “He was afraid of Stacey “The Hoax” Abrams. Brian Kemp let us down. We can’t let it happen again. David Perdue is an outstanding man. He’s tough, he’s smart – he has my complete and total endorsement.”

According to Fox News, Gov. Kemp agreed to debate Perdue in four debates.
