President Donald Trump is nearing the one-year mark of his second term in office, enjoying broad support among Americans for his performance as Commander-in-Chief.
According to a new survey from The Trafalgar Group, 50 percent of Americans nationwide approve of President Trump’s job performance – reasonably high for the close of 2025 and the beginning of the new year.
President Trump, however, has argued that the “real number” is “64%.”
“The polls are rigged even more than the writers,” he remarked on Truth Social.
The president continued, “The real number is 64%, and why not, our Country is ‘hotter’ than ever before. Isn’t it nice to have a STRONG BORDER, No Inflation, a powerful Military, and great Economy??? Happy New Year!”
An earlier poll from December 19-20, conducted by InsiderAdvantage, showed that President Donald Trump was holding steady at 50 percent among 800 likely voters, too.
“The improvement came from numerous demographics including and most importantly independent voters,” said InsiderAdvantage pollster Matt Towery. “His support among younger voters rose, as did his support among female voters.”
This is a good sign for the president as he begins the new year with a busy agenda. The 2026 midterm election season begins in earnest in January, as candidates ramp up their campaigns ahead of primaries and the November general election.
Higher approval for the president puts Republican candidates across the board in a better position to potentially win their races in the fall.
White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles recently remarked that the president’s popularity would be heavily utilized in 2026 ahead of the midterm elections, promising to “put him on the ballot,” and described him as a “turnout machine” in terms of motivating the electorate, per RSBN.
