President Donald President Trump has expressed deep concerns about the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) under the Biden administration.
President Trump took to Truth Social, posting:
“Crooked Joe Biden’s Targeted, Weaponized DOJ & FBI are a grave threat to our Democracy! They are doing Crooked’s DIRTY WORK in attacking and persecuting ‘TRUMP,’ and only doing so because I am CRUSHING DeSanctimonious and Biden in the Polls. This is planned Election Interference of the highest magnitude, and used to only happen in Third World Countries. Now, sadly and terribly, it is happening right here in America, and must be stopped if our Country is to survive. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
President Trump’s remarks reflect a growing belief that President Biden’s DOJ and FBI are weaponizing their authority to go after him.
The 45th president asserts that these agencies are actively working to discredit his achievements and hinder his political aspirations. He also underscores the gravity of the alleged election interference, cautioning that such actions were previously associated with nations facing political turmoil.
The well of this political turmoil runs quite deep. Certainly, it runs deep where President Trump and Joe Biden are concerned.
The Hill reported in June:
“Trump and his Republican allies have repeatedly accused the Justice Department and Biden administration of targeting the former president in an effort to damage his 2024 campaign. ‘This is called election interference in yet another attempt to rig and steal a presidential election,’ Trump said in a speech after his arraignment Tuesday.” Never one to mince words, particularly when it comes to Biden, President Trump went on to say that, “It’s a political persecution like something straight out of a fascist or communist nation.”
President Trump’s post highlights his concerns regarding the partisan nature of the DOJ and FBI under the Biden administration. These concerns undoubtedly prompt pertinent questions about the potential implications for American democracy. They seem especially pertinent given the warm and soft-handed relationship between the Bidens and the DOJ regarding the alway-embroiled Hunter Biden.
The New York Post reported earlier in July:
“The Department of Justice has acknowledged it could hold up a probation-only plea deal offered to first son Hunter Biden for tax and gun crimes, recent court records show, following Republican backlash and claims that Attorney General Merrick Garland lied to Congress about the conduct of the investigation.”
