President Donald Trump weighed in on former Special Counsel Jack Smith’s testimony before Congress on Thursday, describing the prosecutor as getting “DECIMATED.”

“Deranged Jack Smith is being DECIMATED before Congress,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social. “It was over when they discussed his past failures and unfair prosecutions. He destroyed many lives under the guise of legitimacy. Jack Smith is a deranged animal, who shouldn’t be allowed to practice Law.”

Smith’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee comes amid a congressional probe into his tenure during the Biden administration, during which time he viciously prosecuted President Donald Trump.

Smith’s legal attacks against the president hinged on two cases: the “classified documents” case centered on President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, and a second case related to the events of January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol.

Both cases fizzled out before the president’s inauguration in 2025. As reported by RSBN, Smith also resigned from his position at the Department of Justice just before the inauguration last year.

“If he were a Republican, his license would be taken away from him, and far worse!” President Trump argued on Thursday.

He continued, “Hopefully the Attorney General is looking at what he’s done, including some of the crooked and corrupt witnesses that he was attempting to use in his case against me. The whole thing was a Democrat SCAM — A big price should be paid by them for what they have put our Country through!”

According to CBS, Smith told Congress on Thursday that he would “not be intimidated” by the president’s comments about him, and claimed that during his time as special counsel, “We followed the facts and we followed the law, and that process resulted in proof beyond a reasonable doubt that he committed serious crimes. I’m not going to pretend that didn’t happen because he’s threatening me.”
