President Trump delivers strong remarks to U.N. General Assembly

President Donald Trump delivered remarks on Tuesday morning to the United Nations General Assembly, bringing a message of American strength and independence to a globally minded coalition, while tempering that message with some somber warnings.

“Six years have passed since I last stood in this grand hall and addressed a world that was prosperous and at peace in my first term,” the president said. “Since that day, the guns of war have shattered the peace I forged on two continents.”

He discussed the “four years of weakness, lawlessness, and radicalism” sparked by the Biden administration, which “delivered our nation into a repeated set of disasters.”

Now, just eight months after taking office, President Trump heralded the United States’ rapid recovery and superior economic and military might.

“America is blessed with the strongest economy, the strongest borders, the strongest military, and the strongest friendships of any nation on the face of the Earth – this is, indeed, the Golden Age of America,” he declared.

President Trump also highlighted his administration’s success in bringing in massive investments to the domestic economy. He said, “In four years of President Biden, we had less than $1 trillion of new investment into the United States. In just eight months since I took office, we have secured commitments and money already paid for $17 trillion.”

He also lauded the secure southern border, which his administration prioritized from day one.

“We have successfully repelled a colossal invasion,” President Trump said. “…On the world stage, America is respected again like it has never been respected before.”

After his opening remarks – which deftly elevated each winning point of the American economy, the border, the military, and more – he threw a few barbs at the U.N. General Assembly, as well, which leans notoriously into “green” energy and sustainable development.

“Energy is another area where the United States is now thriving like never before. We’re getting rid of the falsely named ‘renewables.’ By the way, they’re a joke. They don’t work,” he said.

The president continued, “I’m telling you, that if you don’t get away from the ‘green energy’ scam,’ your country is going to fail.”

He also slammed the U.N. for its poor environmental predictions, which he said postulated that, by the year 2000, climate change would spark a global catastrophe.

“These predictions were wrong,” he said. “What happened? Here we are…It’s the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world, in my opinion.”

He added, “All of these predictions made by the United Nations and many others, often for bad reasons, were wrong. They were made by stupid people that have cost their countries fortunes and given those countries no chance for success.”
