It seems as if nothing can stop President Trump’s ascent in the 2024 Republican presidential primary race, and new data from Morning Consult has yet again illustrated his powerful momentum.
Super Tuesday is fast approaching, and once that integral election hurdle is out of the way, President Trump is set to sweep the GOP primary, capping off an unprecedented and historic Republican election season where he was, essentially, the only competitive candidate.
President Trump kicked off the GOP primary season with back-to-back wins in Iowa and New Hampshire, which set a clear winning tone for the rest of the year.
According to The New York Times, 15 states and one territory will vote on Super Tuesday, which takes place on March 5, 2024.
Per Morning Consult, Trump is leading handily in the states that will be up to bat on Super Tuesday. Their data has projected that he will strongly win by dozens of points in states like California, Texas, North Carolina, Virginia, Alabama, Massachusetts, Tennessee, and Oklahoma.
Impressively, he is also leading by 75-91 percent in the primary elections poised to occur after Super Tuesday. For example, among state GOP primary voters, he is polling with 85 percent of support in Florida, 83 percent in Georgia, and a whopping 91 percent in Louisiana.
Preceding Super Tuesday and the slew of elections after, Trump also swept to victory in the Nevada and Virgin Islands caucuses this week, taking all the delegates and netting himself a technical 4-0 winning streak. Next, he will likely win the South Carolina primary election by wide margins, as well (+37 points, per Morning Consult).
Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is the only candidate left in the GOP race to challenge Trump for the nomination nationwide. It is possible that she may suspend her campaign after the South Carolina primary. However, this is not confirmed.
