President Trump: McAuliffe’s hatred of me sealed his defeat

President Donald J. Trump advised Democrats running in 2022 to not make the race about him, or they may too reap the same fate as failed Governor’s candidate Terry McAuliffe.

In an email statement published after congratulations began flooding in to Republican victor Glenn Youngkin, President Trump said “all McAuliffe did was talk Trump, Trump, Trump and he lost!”

“I didn’t even have to go rally for Youngkin, because McAuliffe did it for me,” Trump added. “Thank you to the MAGA voters for turning out big!”

This comes after Trump-endorsed Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin was projected the winner of Virginia’s gubernatorial election against Biden-backed former Gov. Terry McAuliffe.
