President-elect Donald Trump met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at Mar-a-Lago on Monday.
The meeting was another in a series meetings with influential leaders at the Trump’s Florida estate.
Elon Musk was also present at the meeting, along with Michael Waltz, Trump’s choice for National Security advisor. Musk has been chosen to lead the Department of Government Efficiency, but has been frequently present at Mar-a-Lago for meetings involving the incoming administration.
“USA today. The future has begun!” Orbán posted on X. “An afternoon in Mar-a-Lago with @realDonaldTrump, @elonmusk and @michaelgwaltz.”
The two leaders have continued to have a positive relationship between Trump’s presidential terms. Trump has pointed out that Prime Minister Orban praised his impact on international relations and noted the level of international conflict was much lower under the first Trump administration.
The Prime Minister has been steadfast in his support of Mr. Trump throughout the election season. Trump has hosted Orban at Mar-a-Lago three times this year and has expressed support for his governance within Hungary.
Orban has also praised Trump for his approach to the war in Ukraine. After meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump called for an immediate cease fire in the conflict that has continued for nearly three years.
Orban has been supportive of Trump’s call for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and has predicted the incoming Trump administration will alter its approach, ceasing aid to Ukraine in an effort to bring the war to an end.
As RSBN previously reported, Orban brought a message of unity and strength to Hungary’s CPAC event in April.
Via the Associated Press, Orban declared during a speech, “These elections coincide with major shifts in world political and geopolitical trends. The order of the world is changing, and we must usher our cause to triumph in the midst of these changes. Progressive liberals feel the danger. Replacing this era means replacing them.”
He explained, “This happens to us Hungarians constantly in Brussels. This is what is happening to President Trump in America, and we encourage him to fight for his own truth not only in the elections, but also in the courts.”
