President-elect Donald Trump has started sharing his plan for what his administration will accomplish in his first 100 days in office.
The agenda of the incoming Trump administration is ambitious and includes fulfilling campaign promises such as the mass deportations of illegal immigrants and further tax cuts to boost the economy.
On Sunday, Trump sat down with Kristen Welker of “Meet the Press” to go over the details of his agenda.
In response to questions from Welker about seeking retribution against political enemies, Trump stressed that this was not his goal. He told Welker he would leave the decisions to his appointees about whether to prosecute corruption within the government and that he would not be directly involved.
Instead, the president-elect stated his resolve to focus on the country’s future rather than dwelling on past political conflicts.
Immigration has long been a key issue for Trump since he initially began his first presidential campaign in 2015. Trump made clear in his interview that he maintains his strong stance on illegal border crossings and intends to enforce deportations of those who have entered the country illegally.
The issue of immigration is an important one for voters and the policies of the Biden administration have resulted in growing support for the Trump administration to carry out its policies and proceed with deportations.
Trump also expressed his continued enthusiasm for tariffs to improve trade relations and to incentivize Canada and Mexico to control the flow of drugs across the U.S. border.
On the subject of Cabinet nominees, Trump remained committed to supporting his choices. These included Pete Hegseth, who is facing an uphill battle for Senate confirmation in his nomination for Secretary of Defense, Kash Patel to lead the FBI and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.
