President Trump revealed on Thursday whether he would attend his eldest son’s upcoming wedding, reportedly coming up on Memorial Day weekend.
“He’d like me to, but it’s just going to be just a small, little private affair, and I’m going to try and make it,” the president told reporters during remarks in the Oval Office.
Donald Trump Jr. is reportedly set to wed Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson in a ceremony in the Bahamas over the coming weekend, RSBN previously reported.
“I said, ‘You know, this is not good timing for me,’” President Trump joked of the wedding date. “I have a thing called ‘Iran’ and other things. That’s one I can’t win on. If I do attend, I get killed; if I don’t attend, I get killed, by the Fake News, of course, I’m talking about.”
The president praised his son’s fiancée as a “very good person I’ve known for a long time – and hopefully they’re going to have a great marriage.”
Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson reportedly began dating in 2024 after Trump split from his former longtime fiancée, Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle, per RSBN. Guilfoyle was a key fundraising powerhouse for the Trump campaign in 2020. She was also previously married to Gavin Newsom, who served as the mayor of San Francisco in the early 2000s and later went on to become the Democrat governor of California.
Following Guilfoyle’s split from Donald Trump Jr., she was appointed by President Donald Trump as an ambassador to Greece.
Mr. Trump was previously married to Vanessa Trump, with whom he shares five children.
Trump’s current fiancée, Bettina, is a well-known Floridian socialite and the daughter of two prominent parents, Harry Loy Anderson Jr., a businessman and philanthropist, and Inger Anderson.
