President Donald Trump signed an executive order to ensure that only American citizens vote in U.S. elections and that mail-in ballots are secured and tracked.

The legislation orders the Secretary of Homeland Security to coordinate with the Social Security Administration and create a list of adult U.S. citizens that is to be transmitted to every state body. This list is expected to be updated within 60 days of each Federal Election.
In addition, the Executive Order directs the Postmaster General to create mail-in-ballot rules that secure absentee ballots and track them with unique barcodes. The U.S. Postal Service will also only mail absentee ballots to individuals who have enrolled to vote by mail.
Finally, the Executive Order directs Attorney General Pam Bondi to make investigating and prosecuting voter fraud a priority, and to withhold federal funding from any and all states that do not comply with these new voter integrity requirements.
Election integrity was one of President Donald Trump’s main campaign promises following the contested 2020 election results. The legitimacy of the 2020 election continues to be questioned as evidence of fraud was recorded and even presented in the documentary “2,000 Mules,” created by Dinesh D’Souza. In the film, D’Souza compiled mail-in-ballot video footage that displayed ballot trafficking where masses of individuals stuffed ballot drop boxes with multiple election ballots.
Despite this, election integrity has been an ongoing issue. In 2020, the Associated Press reported that over 500 illegal aliens were accidentally registered to vote due to a “computer error,” and just last fall, Texas found over 2,724 illegals registered on voter rolls, according to Fox News.

President Trump signed the executive order to secure elections on Tuesday, stating, “That’s a big deal.” He questioned how anyone could challenge such an order. “We want to have honest voting in our country because if you don’t have honest voting, you can’t have… really, a nation.”
