President Donald Trump will announce the launch of a new faith-based initiative called America Prays at the Museum of the Bible in Washington on Monday, linking the effort to the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
The program encourages Americans to set aside time each week to pray for the country, emphasizing faith as a central part of both the nation’s founding and its future.
“President Trump has revived one of America’s most prominent and powerful founding principles — we are one nation under God,” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers told Fox News Digital. “As we approach the 250th anniversary of the greatest country in the world, President Trump invites Americans to pray for our nation and for our people. America is stronger with the power of prayer.”
The initiative calls on participants to join with at least 10 others weekly in prayer. The announcement follows Trump’s appearance at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in July, where he launched America250, the year-long commemoration of the nation’s founding.
“As we prepare to celebrate two and a half centuries of freedom, I am inviting America’s great religious communities to pray for our nation and for our people,” Trump said at the time. “From the beginning, this has always been a country sustained and strengthened by prayer. If we bring religion back stronger, you’re going to see everything get better. So as we chart our course toward the next 250 years, let us rededicate ourselves to one nation under God.”
Faith leaders have endorsed the project, including Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse and Pastor Clint Pressley of the Southern Baptist Convention. Partners include Samaritan’s Purse, Pray.com, Hallow, National Religious Broadcasters, the Faith and Freedom Coalition and numerous churches and ministries nationwide.
Organizers say the campaign reflects the spirit of unity in faith that has defined America since its founding, asking for God’s blessing as the country looks ahead to its next 250 years.
