President Trump has surged ahead of Biden in Georgia, according to a poll conducted by Echelon Insights for the Heritage Foundation.
The survey asked 400 likely voters, “If the 2024 presidential election were being held today, would you vote for Donald Trump or Joe Biden?”
Of the 400 respondents, 52 percent said they would cast their ballot for President Trump, while just 42 percent chose Biden.
Georgia’s state legislature and governor’s office are controlled by Republicans. However, both United States senators are Democrats, making Georgia “a highly competitive swing state,” according to USA Today.
The poll also showed the 45th president ahead in Nevada, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Arizona.
Trump trailed Biden by just one percentage point in Wisconsin. However, Biden has faced challenges in the state from radical progressives who are displeased with his handling of the Israel-Hamas war.
USA Today cited other recent polls that showed President Trump leading Biden by various margins, including one from CBS News, where Trump was up by three percentage points. A recent Marist poll showed him ahead by four percentage points, according to the outlet.
