President Donald Trump’s supporters firmly back his decision to attack Iran, new polling has found.
According to YouGov, 65 percent of “MAGA Republicans” strongly approve of Operation Epic Fury, while 20 percent “somewhat” approve, bringing the overall approval of the strikes, among the president’s base, to 85 percent.
Republicans in general also largely approve of the president’s actions against Iran, too, by 76 percent.
“President Trump has the luxury of a political movement that’s firmly behind him and trusts him,” observed Fox News commentator and former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
Predictably, Democrats “strongly or somewhat disapprove” of the attacks by 78 percent, while 53 percent of all Americans say the U.S. and its allies “are more likely to be the eventual winner of the conflict, while only 4% say Iran and its allies are.”
The United States’ military is working jointly with the Israeli Defense Forces to attack Iran, and on Tuesday, the Pentagon provided an update on the mission.
“Iran’s neighbors and in some cases former allies in the Gulf have abandoned them, and their proxies, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Hamas, either broken, ineffective, or on the sidelines,” said Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. “Iran stands alone, and they are badly losing. On Day 10 of Operation Epic Fury, we are winning, with an overwhelming and unrelenting focus on our objectives, which are the same as the day I gave my first briefing here…we are executing with ruthless precision.”
The mission of Operation Epic Fury is focused on three main objectives, according to the Pentagon: dismantle and destroy Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities and industrial missile base, annihilate the Iranian Navy, and terminate Iran’s ability to ever make or obtain nuclear weapons.
