British politician Nigel Farage was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) on Friday for the first time ever.

While his seven previous attempts were unsuccessful, Farage believes that the tide is shifting in the country. The Reform UK leader expressed his enthusiasm for the future, stating that the election results were “the first step of something that is going to stun all of you.”

President Trump, a close friend and ally of Farage, highlighted the victory in a Truth Social Post. “Congratulations to Nigel Farage on his big WIN of a Parliament Seat Amid Reform UK Election Success. Nigel is a man who truly loves his Country! DJT.”

Reform UK garnered over four million votes in the election, putting it on track to become the third-largest party in the country based on the total number of votes received, according to the BBC. Thus far, the party has won four seats.

Farage told reporters that the win was “the beginning of the end of the Conservative Party.” He noted that there was “a massive gap on the centre-right of British politics” and that it was his “job to fill it.”

Farage said that Reform UK would “now be targeting Labour votes.” He told reporters that around half of the votes Reform received were “anti-Conservative” votes and pointed out the lack of enthusiasm for the Labour Party.

Farage’s leadership during Brexit undoubtedly influenced voters in the election, as 70 percent of voters who elected Reform’s four new MPs also voted for Brexit.

In an exclusive interview with The National Pulse, Farage told Raheem Kassam, “I think to try and run before we can walk might be a mistake, [but] I tell you what, those small boats [of illegal migrants] will be crossing the [English] Channel next week. I guess that’s where I’ll start.”

Farage said that he planned to “build a mass movement around the country” by holding rallies and focusing on election successes at the local level.

Remarking on the upcoming presidential election in the United States, Farage told Kassam, “My success in ’16 was good news for Donald. I hope it is again. Go, Donald, go!”
