Former National Security Advisor Lt. General Michael Flynn has officially endorsed President Donald Trump for president in 2024.
Flynn shared the “100%” endorsement of Trump in a news release on his X account on Wednesday.
“This is our last chance to vote for freedom from government control. Will your children live the American Dream or be enslaved by a corrupt, wasteful government of woke globalists?” Flynn began in his endorsement.
He addressed key issues at stake in America as the basis for his Trump endorsement.
“Inflation has starved our families, stolen our savings, and shattered our dreams. Lawlessness has destroyed our culture – and drug dealers, child traffickers, and terrorists walk across our border,” the retired general argued.
“Our once unmatched military now trains on DEI instead of focusing on combat tactics and achieving victory. Our allies don’t trust us. China, North Korea, and Iran know that,” Flynn added.
Flynn continued with a list of reasons for his strong support of Trump’s comeback bid for the White House in November.
“We need change; and one man has the knowledge, determination, previously demonstrated experience, and more important, the courage to bring it, on Day 1. He runs into the fight – whatever the cost – including the most egregious political persecution in modern history. President Trump simply refuses to watch America destroy itself,” he stated.
The former national security adviser concluded with strong words of support as the nation celebrated Independence Day.
“I endorse Donald J. Trump for President 100%. And I trust his judgment. He is, since Ronald Reagan, the greatest leader of our time. May God Almighty protect and bless him, and may God continue to bless America,” Flynn concluded.
Trump also shared the endorsement on his Truth Social account.
Flynn’s and Trump’s work during the Trump administration included both wins and controversies, including an investigation of Flynn in which he initially pled guilty to making a false statement to the FBI about his conversations with a Russian ambassador.
Flynn later retracted his guilty plea. Trump pardoned Flynn in November 2020.
The endorsement adds to numerous military leaders and former Trump administration advisers who have supported Trump’s campaign.
