Anticipated testimony from Hunter Biden’s former business associate Devon Archer has allegedly yielded big results for House Republicans as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., told the Daily Mail that his account was “extremely damning.”
In her comments to the outlet, Rep. Greene revealed, “We have Devon Archer coming out and telling the truth that Hunter Biden and Joe Biden spoke over 20 times about his business deals, not about the weather, not about what was for lunch – about his business deals.”
“The president lied,” Greene wrote on Twitter.
She additionally referenced Archer’s prior arrest and conviction in a $60 million fraud case, writing, “Archer’s arrest was just par for the course for Hunter. Hunter didn’t just peddle his family’s influence to secure business deals that would otherwise be unattainable, he knew he and his associates would largely be shielded from the scales of justice because of his last name: Biden.”
On Monday, Archer delivered testimony in a closed-door deposition. Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman (N.Y.) took questions from the press soon after, confirming the witness’s testimony that Joe Biden repeatedly had phone calls with Hunter Biden, although he denied that the nature of the calls was business-oriented.
He stated, “It was…sounds like most of the time, now-President Biden didn’t even know who the people was at dinner. He was just asked to say hello…the witness was very, very consistent that none of those conversations ever had to do with any business dealings or transactions. They were purely, as he called them, casual conversations.”
The House Oversight Committee commented on Twitter, “Democrats want you to believe that Hunter Biden, Joe Biden, and Devon Archer were talking about the score of the Phillies game and not Hunter’s business deals. Yea, sure.”
