Republicans are calling on Americans to reject the “liberal world order” the Biden administration is attempting to push at the expense of the people.
“Reject the Liberal World Order!” Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Texas, tweeted on Friday following White House economic adviser Brian Deese’s comments that the surge in gas prices is part of the “liberal world order.”
Former White House Press Secretary under the Trump administration Kayleigh McEnany also slammed Deese’s comments during an episode of Fox News’s “Outnumbered,” saying, “So you’re paying more in gas because it’s the future of the liberal world order.”
She continued:
“We’ve heard, oh, Joe Biden can’t do anything about gas prices. But in their most honest moments, we’ve heard honesty from the president that when it comes to gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition, an incredible transition as you’re pumping your gas at $5 a gallon. Jennifer Granholm said that we’re accelerating the move to clean energy.
So in their most lucid moments, they are admitting that when you pump your gas, when you see, as I did, you know, 100 something dollars, that’s intentional. They want you to get rid of your car. They want you to move to a clean energy vehicle. It’s all part of the great liberal transition.”
In a viral interview clip, Deese was asked what he would say to families struggling with the surge in gas prices. The economic adviser candidly implied that this is simply part of the “future of the liberal world order.”
“What you heard from the president today was a clear articulation of the stakes,” Deese said. “This is about the future of the liberal world order and we have to stand firm.”
As The Federalist reports, Deese referred to Biden’s latest comments at the NATO summit after a reporter, speaking on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, asked, “How long is it fair to expect American drivers and drivers around the world to pay that premium for this war?”
“As long as it takes so Russia cannot, in fact, defeat Ukraine and move beyond Ukraine,” Biden replied.
According to a recent AAA National Average report, the average gas price has doubled under the Biden administration. In January 2021, the national average was at $2.39, compared to the $4.81 per gallon Americans are dealing with now, as previously reported.
The Biden administration has failed to sway public opinion in a positive direction, as voters voiced they do not trust Democrats on issues of inflation or national security, according to a new Morning Consult and Politico poll.
As a recession looms, Democrats will likely be at a disadvantage when voters head to the polls this fall, while Republicans expect a massive red wave.
