Florida is a deep red state. This is being displayed during the 2024 election as over 1 million Republicans now outnumber Democrat voters.

According to the Florida Department of State, 5,455,480 Republicans are registered to vote in the area’s 2024 election as opposed to 4,400,561 Democrats.

This is a massive lead that has grown over the past four years. The Florida Department of State reported that during the 2020 election, there were more registered Democrats than Republicans by a narrow lead of just over 97,000 voters. This gap was closed by 2021, and the Republican majority has continued growing ever since.

The Florida Division of Elections has also displayed a larger number of early-voting Republicans than Democrats in the 2024 race. As of Election Day, Republicans had cast over a million more ballots than Democrats.

Democrats in Florida are still leading in mail-in voting numbers but by smaller margins. About 200,000 more Democrats have chosen to vote by mail as over 600,000 Vote-By-Mail ballots have yet to be returned.
